Bridge Class More Commonly Used Conventions: Jacoby Transfer Convention a Deeper Dive: Tuesdays 7 – 8:30. Dates: October 8, 15, 22, 29. Fee: $65 for course. A-La-Carte fee: $20/class. This 4 week course examines the Jacoby Transfer and subsequent bids including using Jacoby Transfer with a weak hand, invitational hand, game hand, or very strong hand. How to handle competition, signing off in a minor, using the relay to the minors, invitational hand with long minor suit, slam interest with long major and strength. The facilitator will use the ACBL Commonly Used Conventions course, chapter 2 as a base for the course. Other materials will be used to offer further examples. Each week the facilitator will provided a lesson on the topic then we will bid, discuss & play 4-6 hands that reinforce the topic of the day. Basic bridge knowledge required and familiarity with the Stayman Convention required. Weekly Topics: First Week 1: Jacoby Transfer Convention Over 1NT. Second Week 2: Jacoby Transfer & signing off in a part-score minor suit. Third Week 3: Invitational minor & long major with slam interest. Finally Week 4: Putting it all together.
