Introduction to Mah Jongg. Mah Jongg is a rummy game played with tiles. This course will introduce you American Mah Jongg. Mah Jongg, traditionally played with 4 players, using a combination of 14 tiles from the current National Mah Jongg League’s winning hands card. This four week course starts right from the beginning starting with an introduction to the tiles. Below find a list of the topics introduced in each class. You can register for the entire course or pay by session. Dates: Saturdays, October 12, 19, 26, November 2 Time: 10 am – 12 pm. Registration requested. Fee: $65/person for full course. Pay by session fee: $20/person/session. Class 1: Introduction to Mah Jongg tile set, National Mah Jongg League’s winning hands card, and basic set up and play of the game. Class 2: Review of tiles and continuing to become familiar with Mah Jongg card and basics of play. Introduction to basic playing, strategy of picking a hand. Class 3: This class is devoted to playing as many hands as possible to become more comfortable with the rhythm of play. Class 4: Continuing to practice playing including strategy questions as they arise.
