Declarer Skills Practice Course on Monday mornings 10 am – 12 pm 9 sessions, and $109/person or you can pay as you go for $20/class.

You won the contract, so now learn and practice good declarer planning and playing techniques. Each week the facilitator will review a playing topic and then participants will bid, plan, and play hands. We typically play an average of 6-8 hands, and topics include (see below for full outline): Making a plan; Promoting winners; Finessing; Trumping losers. Week 1: Play topic: Take the time to plan your hand. Then, in Week 2: Play topic: Developing Tricks: Promotion. Week 3: Play topic: Finessing. Week 4: Play topic: Eliminating losers, ruffing, discarding, and quick vs. slow losers. Week 5: Play topic: Recognizing, developing, & leveraging entries. Week 6: Play topic: Hold up play so you can avoid the dangerous opponent. Week 7: Play topic: Managing trump suit –  when to pull trump… or not. Week 8: Play topic: Combining techniques – eight ever, but nine never.
